About Troncones, Mexico
Troncones is a small ecological beach community about 145 miles northwest of Acapulco and 23 miles north of Zihuatanejo-Ixtapa International Airport.
Troncones, Zihuatanejo, and Ixtapa are sister destinations located in the State of Guerrero, Mexico on the Pacific Coast in the area known as the Mexican Rivera. Each of these vacation spots is located within a short drive from one another. Zihuatanejo is the central community which offers the charming chaos of authentic Mexico. Ixtapa is a government-planned resort area and an immaculate first-world tourist destination.
Nestled between the jungled foothills of the Sierra Madre del Sur Mountains and the warm tropical waters of the Pacific lies the beachfront community of Troncones. About 500 permanent residents make Troncones their home, mostly fisherman, farmers, and ranchers.
